Dear Friends, I am happy to inform you that the software collection in the IIITM-K library has crossed 10,000. These software selected from relevant open sources and journal/magazine CDs are found to be highly useful for various requirements including that of the Institutes various projects and academic activities. Many applications that took several days and weeks and laborious effort to build earlier even from open sources are now made available to install and integrate in larger systems. IIITM-K library, on realizing this issue, started collecting relevant freeware / shareware software from different CDs procured along with different magazines. This software collection is found to be very helpful in saving time of coding for different projects, make them focus on applications, for student's academic activities and variety of other purposes. All the software selected have been analyzed and categorized based on their applications. Details including name, description, category, File size, software license type (Freeware, shareware etc.) etc of all such software products are now available to library users through our Intranet from Online library Information System (OLIS) developed using GenISISWeb.
