The job openings in LIS profession is on the decline because of ebooks,
e-jls and online /offline databases.
There is very little scope for cataloging and classification because of
copy cataloging and most of the records are downloadable.
However, there are opportunities for specially qualified professional
having expertise in ICT applications.

One of my colleague son, he is just completed his Hsc (10+2) level. In future he wanted to study Library Science with graduation B.Tech (IT/Computer science) or M.C.A (five years integrated) course. Prior to LIS, which degree is advisable to study B.Tech or M.C.A.? What is your opinion?
