President Obama proclaimed October 2009 as National Information Literacy
Awareness month and by doing so "calls upon the people of the United
States to recognize the important role information plays in our daily
lives, and appreciate the need for a greater understanding of its impact".

Hope even in India, MHRD, NKC, UGC, National and State level education
boards will recognise the significance of Information Literacy and
undertake such initiatives that enforce Academic Institutions and
libraries and Public Libraries to promote Information Literacy.
