Dear Professional friends,
Please join me in lauding yet another innovative and marvellous initiative
of MyLISA, the 'Adopt and Nurture a Library' program as a part of
celebration of National Library Week. Facilitatting the professional
expertise, guidance throughout the year and making available the required
infrastructure and funds through some philanthropists shows the practical
approach of MyLISA in achieving its goal and not just celebration for the
sake of celebration of NLW. I appreciate the brains behind this novel
idea. Cheers, MyLISA keep it up.
Regards,

Dear LISians,
Season's Greetings
On the National Library Week this year, MyLISA is happy to announce that we have launched a program called ‘Adopt and Nurture a Library.' The idea is to support a library to grow into a professional and model library by adopting it for a year.
The expertise of the members of MyLISA is drawn, completely on an honorary basis, to help the library. After a brief survey, MyLISA decided to adopt the ‘Arivu School Library’ for the academic year 2015-16.
We would like share some of the Key events organized under this initiative at Arivu:
1. Interaction between the school authorities and a group lead by MyLISA on activities during library hour and automation of Arivu library. The group included Smt. Usha Mukund and Dr. Rashmi T Kumbar, Head, IET Library, Ahmedabad (Former Teacher Librarian, Adani Vidya Mandir, Ahmedabad) as special invitees. 2. Smt. Usha Mukund visited Arivu the during last October 2015 and conducted library oriented activities to promote the use of books and reading habits among the young minds. 3. The technical processing work and library automation with Koha have been started and likely to be completed by February 2016.
We would like to thank Rotary Midtown Mysore for the financial support extended for the purchase of furniture, Prof. Govinda Sharma, Faculty, SDMIMD, Mysuru, for donating computer for library automation activity, and SDMIMD for taking care of stationary materials, book labels and other accessories.
It is interesting to note that parents of the school children are joining hands with MyLISA in this ‘Adopt and Nurture a Library.'
