Joginder Singh, 81, an Indian American Librarian has been selected for the Maryland Library Association's (MLA) Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award for 2006.  He has been involved with various US libraries and other voluntary services since he immigrated to the country in 1983.
 
Before Singh went to the US, he had served at the American Resource Center in India for over 30 years. The award will be presented to Singh in May.
