Dear lisforum members, I have seen the posting of Mr.srinvasulu.b, a student of NCSI asking for changing the name of the degree from MLISc to MSc. A budding professional feels inferior with the name of the degree he is holding is an astonishing thing for me. If the name is changed to MSc, he may be feeling that nobody will ask him what he is learning there. But to me I feel that others should ask us what we are studying and what we are practicing. Through what we do, others will come to know about what we have learned also. Be proud to be a professional librarian. It is not the degree that matters or even its name. But what work you do at your workplace is that matters. This is the advice that a senior librarian with both BLISc and MLISc to his credit has to say.
