Dear Sir/Madam, Al Gore- Former US vice-president, who won the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for his untiring effort in creating the awareness of climate change around the world along with the IPCC An Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change headed by R.K.Pachauri, Director of The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI), New Delhi, India. Al Gore is the first to use the word Information Superhighway as a US congress senator and during his presidential campaign in 2000, which later became the nomenclature of information world. Al Gore was a firm supporter for widespread use of computers, particularly in schools and libraries during his tenure as a senator of white House, Washington, D.C. US. It is also time to remember his role in getting financial assistance for the initiation of Digital Library Project Phase-1 from The National Science Foundation (NSF). The bibliometric analysis of scholarly publications on climate change depicting in his Academy Award winning Documentary An Inconvenient Truth is also notable here. Robert Kahn and Vinton Cerf- inventor of Internet Protocol noted in a scholarly article that Al Gore was the first political leader to recognize the importance of the Internet and to promote and support its development. One of the readers of Seattle Times News Papers once wrote that We need a leader with vision. We need Al Gore. ------------------------- With best wishes Vasantha Raju N From Chandigarh to Chennai - find friends all over India.
