Dear Professional, cd3wd is a project which provides free of charge 1.2 gigabytes of electronic books and documents on practical technical aspects of 3rd world development both for online browsing and (more importantly) for offline useage on pc's. It is comprised of html, jpg, gif and pdf files and is truly cross-platform, being useable on windows, linux, mac, and unix computers. Since going online august 2004 we have an average of 6 downloads of 700+ megabytes per day, i.e. 4.2 gigabytes per day, 1.4 terrabytes per year, 2.8 terrabytes total to date. cd3wd covers agriculture, health, watsan, appropriate technology and alternative energy, construction, education, forestry, fisheries, food processing, metalwork, woodwork, election systems, economics, business management, SME management etc etc.. Our next major move is the issue of complete translations from english to spanish, french, portuguese, arabic, chinese and russian.
