*Professional Development Programme (PDP) for Information Professionals 2015 on "Managerial Core Competency Development" from 17-19 February, 2015* In an era of Knowledge-Based Economy, knowledge remains an essential service, yet organizations are cutting costs and more and more information professionals are struggling to demonstrate their true value. The core skills and capabilities required by Information professionals are changing by the day. In today's context, information professionals are expected to communicate constantly within their organization, their clienteles, and integrate themselves into new areas, build key and productive relationships, and pro-actively demonstrate their value. Information professionals need to justify their value and become pro-actively involved in the most effective way possible. Realizing these facts, it become outmost important for informational professionals to excel current and recent challenges in this dynamic knowledge society. The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) is organizing a workshop on *"Professional Development Programme (PDP) for Information Professionals 2015 on "Managerial Core Competency Development*" from *17-19 February, 2015* at *TERI**, India Habitat Center, New Delhi*. *Some of the selected rational outcome which will enhance the capabilities of the participants to:* - Develop effective communication skills to interact with the user community; - Inculcate entrepreneurship and project management skills; - Create value added and customized knowledge and information services; - Develop problem-solving and critical analytical skills; - Ability to build partnerships and alliance amongst alike communities; - Improve library management skills; Facilitate the development of information literacy skills; - Inculcate infopreneurial attitude among the LIS professionals towards sustainability; - Bridging the gap, what is preached and what is practiced in the Libraries. The workshop programme as well as course contents have been developed in guidance with eminent subject experts to promote continuous improvement of core competency skills of the participants. The resource persons will comprise of experts from within TERI as well as outside. The pedagogy of this programme will be: - Lectures by eminent faculty members and experts, - Presentations and exercises and case-based discussion - Situation analysis and hands on activities The course has been developed content rich which primarily focuses on guidance to implementation of best practices. *Who should attend?* If you are a mid-level manager or supervisor, currently managing libraries or Information resources or the knowledge centres and looking for a stepping out to excel through skills, expertise and core competencies then this programme is right for you. *Registration: * To allow such rich and useful interactions, the number of participants will be limited to *30 drawing participants from various arrays of library science professionals*.
