CALL FOR PAPERS Dr. Ravinder N. Sharma Felicitation Volume Dr. Ravindra N. Sharma, Dean of the Library at Monmouth University, West Long Branch, New Jersey (USA), is an outstanding Asian American library professional. Since last 30 years, he has worked in various capacities in a number of academic libraries in United States. Dr. Sharma earned a Masters in Arts (History) from the University of Delhi, India. He received his M.L.S. from North Texas State University, and was conferred Ph.D. in Information and Library Studies from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Since 1982, he has presented 25 papers at various conferences and has served on more than 30 committees of ACRL and ALA. Dr Sharma has sustained a distinguished record of writing books and journal articles as well as presentations which have made Americans and others more aware of global issues in librarianship. He has served ALA, ACRL and the International Federation of Library Associations admirably by chairing and serving on many committees dealing with international issues. It was a great honor for the Librarians of color in North America that for the first time in the history of ACRL, the award for the year 2005 was given to Dr. Ravindra Nath Sharma for his significant contributions to the profession of academic librarianship. Dr Sharma is the only librarian of color to achieve this distinction so far. As tribute to this dedicated professional, his friends, colleagues and well wishers have proposed to bring out a festschrift volume in his honor on the topic: "Challenges for South Asian Resources & Information Services". The Felicitation Committee will highly appreciate if you kindly submit an article/research paper or your tributes/ comments for inclusion in this volume by 31 st October 2006.
