Speaker’s Bio:
Mr. M.N. Vidyashankar, Principal
Secretary, Department of e-Governance, Karnataka, joined the Indian
Administrative Service (IAS) in 1982 after his M.A., and M. Phil in Economics
from the Delhi School of Economics and MBA from Harvard Business School, USA.
His major areas of interest include Downsizing, Right Sizing, Re-engineering,
E-Governance, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Customer Relations Management
(CRM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). He was the Chief Electoral
Officer & Ex-officio Principal Secretary to Government, DPAR (Elections)
and has held the post of Principal Secretary to the Government of Karnataka,
Dept. of Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science & Technology
between October 2006 to March 2008. Prior to this, he served in different
Departments in the State Government, including Revenue, Rural Development &
Panchayat Raj, and Energy & Medical Education. He has also served in the
Department of Personnel & Training, Ministry of Personnel and Public
Grievances in Government of India. He was Chairman, BWSSB during 2000 –
2004 and Commissioner, BDA from July 2004 to May 2006.
