The answer is YES if yours is not a Public Library.
Under the The Copyright Act, 1957, Chapter XI,
Clause 52, provides for some "Fair Use" under "Certain acts not to be
infringement of copyright"
Under its sub-clause "O" it provides for
"the making of not more than three copies of a book (including a
pamphlet, sheet of music, map, chart or plan) by or under the
direction of the person in charge of a public library for the use of
the library if such book is not available for sale in India;"

Dear Professionals.
To fullfill the library user need, I searched a book to purchase, but I came to know from the different book distributor is "The Book which I am searching is out of print"
But I find the same book with my professional friend, then I thought to digitize the same book for the benefit of our library users.
If i do, is I voilating copy right act ?
Kindly let me know on this aspect. Based on your/ professional suggestion, I will contiune.
Waiting for your kind reply
