Karnataka Medical Library Association is hosting its 2nd
 annual conference for Library professionals and doctors
 joint summit on January 22 & 23, 2010 at Kempegowda
Institute of Medical Sciences, Bangalore in association with
Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka,
 Bangalore.

About KMLA: Karnataka Medical Library Association (KMLA
 estd. 1993)the only professional body representing all the
 Librarians of health Science institutions in Karnataka state
 affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health sciences.
 KMLA has been actively involved in imparting training and
 fighting for the welfare of the professional and development
 professional activity to abreast medical librarians with
 latest knowledge.

 THEME:
 Effective management of ever growing electronic resource
 and providing easy access, to user is a challenge in digital
 Librarianship. There are many complications in acquiring and
 managing e-resources due to various subscription and
 licensing model. Hybrid library is the opt and viable model
 for some more years to come, and hence the conference
 address various aspects such as resource acquisition,
 consolidations, business terms, license and considering
 print and e-resources together for viable and affordable
 model. Also it covers rights management of e-resources,
 bibliographic management, access management and skill set
 required for staff.
