Animation is a method in which pictures are manipulated to appear as moving images. Apart from use in short films, feature films, animated gifs and other related media are dedicated to the display of moving image, heavily used for video games, motion graphics and special effects. Also, animation is prevalent in IT interfaces. Visual effects (abbreviated VFX) is the process by which imagery is created or manipulated outside the context of a live action shot in film making.
