Dear All, When Basavaraju Appa Rao, one of the leading lights of Telugu poetry, lost his son at a young age, he wrote an elegy. One of its lines says: He has vacated the house and left. Dr Cholin too has done the same thing and left pain and sorrow not only in the hearts of his family members, close associates, friends but also several hundreds of LIS professionals. I just spent a couple of minutes with Dr Cholin when he visited CIEFL Library about a few years ago to provide some technical assistance on library automation. He was knowledgeable, bubbling with entusiasm, and professional to the core. I heard a number of LIS professionals speaking very highly of him because of his ever helpful attitude towards one and all. Dr Cholin and Dr Rajashekar were role models to LIS professionals of this country. I presume that Dr Cholin had left us at a relatively very young age.
