Subject: [LIS-Forum] CALL FOR PARTICIPATION: International Training Session on Optimizing the Potential and the Impact in Academic Research Publishing TERI University proposes to conduct International Training Session on “Optimizing the Impact and Potential in Academic Research Publishing” on 6th August 2013 in collaboration with Society for Information Organization, UK http://www.socio.org.uk/ at TERI University. The proposed training session is mainly for young researchers, academicians & scientists from Colleges, Universities, Research Laboratories and Scientific Agencies. Interested administrators and information professionals can also participate. Training Session Faculty The proposed workshop will be addressed by eminent and experienced international researchers and information scientists. Venue: TERI University Campus, 10 Institutional Area, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi - 110 070. INDIA Date: 6 August 2013 Time: 9AM – 4 PM Registration Fees The participant needs to register before July 15, 2013. The Registration fee for full time student is Rs 600 and for others is Rs. 1000. The proposed workshop is designed to address the issues listed below. 1. Profiling and Optimizing Research Publications 2. Writing a good research paper 3. Improving research quality through harnessing 4. Case studies, Illustrations and Interactions We will discuss the structure of research publications, review and indexing process, methods of generating good publications, the ways to optimize the research publication activities, demonstration of global indexing databases, research networks and other citation and evaluation metrics. The workshop has presentations by the workshop presenters, illustrations and discussions. The workshop has an exclusive session with interaction and discussions on ‘academic profiling with research publications and citation metrics’. Participating researchers can interact with the training faculty by posing specific issues and problems related to research publishing.
