Setting up an Archives is a workshop on providing insights into
conservation and preservation issues of Library and archival material. The three
day workshop is planned to provide a comprehensive model to deal with archiving
institutional material. The workshop will address issues of metadata
creation in addition to conservation issues to make the
collection a
meaningful one that would provide easy access to users. This model is a flexible
and a constantly evolving one depending on the needs of the institution and the
end users.
"Setting up an archives" is for people wishing to start an
archives afresh and also to those who want to reorganize an existing archives.
Individuals who do not have an exposure to archives could also benefit from the
course.

Resource persons trained from reputed institutions will be
conducting the programme.
The workshop will be held at the Roja Muthiah
Research Library.
Course Fee | Rs. 3000/- (University students can avail
concession). Fee to be paid by demand draft in favour of Roja Muthiah
