Dear friends, I thought it useful to communicate to Library Science organizations and agencies this below published notice of Expression of Interest (EOI) for Empanelment of Agencies for Rolling Out of eGranthalaya Software. Last date is 11th October 2010 upto 3 PM. As you may be aware that eGranthalaya ( http://egranthalaya.nic.in ) is a Digital Agenda of National Informatics Centre (NIC) for Automation and Networking of libraries and building Digital Library. Software is provided free of cost to libraries on request. Till date thousands of libraries are using the software in different parts of India and many more in the pipeline. With the emphasis on automation and networking of libraries as a part of e-Governance to reach far flung areas of the country, the demand for support services for implementation has increased manifold. Towards this objective, it is proposed to empanel organizations/ agencies of repute for providing Rollout services for eGranthalaya software. This project spans whole of the country. National Informatics Centre Services Inc. (NICSI) ( http://nicsi.nic.in/ ) is as a section 25 Company under NIC. NICSI has published the EOI for E-Granthalaya last week.
