Its functional modules are Acquisitions, Serials Management, Technical Processing(Cataloguing), Circulation, Web OPAC and Reports. In fact if you compare NewGenLib with all other similar open source software and many commercial software it is more sophisticated both in terms of functionality and technology. Q: Is the software stable? A: NewGenLib is in the market from the year 2004. It is used as a primary ILS(Integrated Library System) in many libraries across the globe. It is highly stable and is becoming more robust every day Q: In the future, What should I do if I find bugs in the software? A: Our bugs database is on-line at http://code.google.com/p/newgenlib/issues/list . Register bugs online and track them. Critical bugs are resolved in less than 48-hours (Working days) and hosted at Nightly builds Q: In the future, What should I do if I have new requirements that must be incorporated in the software? A: NewGenLib development team is doing that hard work for you. We are in continuous interaction with the community (Which includes you) to understand the latest requirements for a library. We are developing and incorporating the new features for you. You can suggest and get new features developed for your library. It is our responsibility and duty to keep the NewGenLib in tune with your requirements. Q: I will be using NewGenLib for my organization's library. What should I do if the software crashes? My work will come to a immediate halt. Who will help me out? A: NewGenLib offers "Emergency services". These services help librarians during critical times and panic times to restore the system with out data loss. We request libraries to take backup at regular intervals.
