Anything that is free and downloadable from the net, is not free of
copyright protection, UNLESS the website says so.
It is a good idea to request permission from a publisher before you
circulate alerts / include them in blogs etc.
Long ago, I was a librarian at a consumer health library. I included news
items in our website. I sent several mails to newspaper publishers
requesting permission, but did not get any response. I saved the emails,
incase we got into trouble. We also put up a statement on our website saying
that if a publisher objected, we would remove all the news items
I would advise all caution before you distribute / include these alerts

Yes we do circulate daily to our associates on various topics as media
alerts. Since thse are downloadable from the net, presume there is no
copyright issue.
