
Dear Professionals, Azim Premji Foundation established Azim Premji University in 2010. The Foundation works extensively on Education, particularly on public school systems in many states of India to realize the Foundation’s vision of facilitating ‘a just equitable, humane and sustainable society'. The University supports the Foundation through its programmes of study that prepare graduates and development professionals with integrity, competence and social commitment. The University offers a liberal undergraduate degree in the Sciences, Economics and Humanities and postgraduate degrees in the fields of Education, Development, Public Policy and Law & Development. The University’s research programmes contribute to knowledge and ideas in these areas. There is a strong emphasis on theory-practice linkages in all the activities at the University. *Knowledge Resource Centre* Knowledge Resource Centre (KRC) is a network of people and libraries (including the University library) and its aim is to enable knowledge exchange within and outside the Azim Premji Foundation. The University library’s primary objective is to cater to the information and knowledge needs of University Students, Faculty, Scholars and Field partners. *Required qualification:* Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent from a recognized University or Institute. *Experience:* Around one year of experience in an operational role in an academic library. Fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply. *Language Fluency:* English. In addition, Kannada and/ or Hindi fluency is desirable. *About Training Programme:* Selected candidates will be given training in all the sections of the library. They expected to spend a considerable amount of time in the cataloguing of resources as per AACR II standards. The candidate will get overall exposure to the academic library. *Tenure of the Programme: *This recruitment will be purely on a contractual basis for six months only. There will be no extension. Candidates who complete this programme are encouraged to apply to the Azim Premji University 2-years Library Internship programme, which will commence around October 2022.
