TERI announces three-day Workshop on Future Libraries: Advanced GSDL and RFID 14?16 January 2009, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi TERI is organizing the Workshop on Future Libraries: Advanced GSDL and RFID. The aim of the workshop is to equip participants with adequate practical knowledge so as to enable them to efficiently carry out digital library and library automation projects. The workshop will be held at TERI, IHC Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. Workshop programme The workshop programme will include tutorial-type presentations, demonstrations, practical sessions, and will cover the following topics: Libraries in the future: an overview Library consortia and networking Emerging technologies: RFID E-resource management, portal, and search engines GSDL overview, installation, configuration and,administration Collection building with GLI (GreenStone Librarian Interface) GSDL customization using macro files and style-sheet : -Home page customization : -Collection specific customization The faculty will comprise digital library experts from TERI and other institutes. Participants: The workshop is intended for library and information professionals, knowledge managers, information entrepreneurs, and e-content developers, who have the interests, initiatives, and need to set up digital libraries and interest in automated library management in their organizations. To allow rich and useful interactions, the number of participants is being limited to 25. Registration: The registration fee is Rs 3500/- per participant.
