Dear Professionals We are glad to inform that we have recieved great response regarding paper submission towards the Seminar and there is pressure for extending the date to accomodate some more papers and participants.The extended date for the paper submission is 12-02-2010. Call for Papers Main Theme: Knowledge Conservation and Preservation Sub Themes (but not limited to) : • Preservation and Conservation of - Scientific Publications (Institutional Repositories) - Electronic Theses and Dissertations - Educational Resources (Open Courseware) - Multimedia resources • Problems and Role of Govt. and NGO's in Preservation • Knowledge Engineering • Knowledge Management • Copyright Issues in Knowledge Preservation • Problems in Conservation of Cultural Heritage in Museums, Archives and Libraries • The Awareness of Conservation and Reasons for Re-Orientation of Library Training. • Physical Preservation of knowledge Resources (hardcopies archives, Microfilm Archives etc.) • Digital Preservation of knowledge Resources (digital text archives, e-paper archives, online web archives etc.) • Metadata Standards for digital preservation. • Issues in Digital Preservation, Access and Management (Technical, Financial, Manpower, etc.) Guidelines for Paper Submission • The research paper is expected to contain original work, preferably case studies which have not been published elsewhere in any form. • Full paper (not more than 2000 words) related to the main theme or sub themes specified in brochure should carry the Abstract, Key words ,Title, Name(s), Affiliations, and E-mail address. • The paper should be composed in MS-Word in A4 size, single spacing with font size- 12 points and Times New Roman font. • Follow the APA format for bibliographic description. • Paper submitted to the seminar will be reviewed by a panel of experts. • The full text paper should reach us by 5th February , 2010. • The acceptance of the paper will be notified by February 12, 2010 • Authors are encouraged to send the electronic version of the papers to naskcon2010@gmail.com., a CC to chairman.ls@amu.ac.in Resource Persons: Invited eminent experts in the field of knowledge conservation and preservation will deliver lectures Venue: Department of Library and Information Science, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, UP-202002.
