It is indeed a very Good News to all the LIS professionals in India. NewGenLib is truly an International package worth putting under Open source software, where the whole World can appreciate the Indian expertise in LIS. Although many ILS packages were developed in India, none have reached perfection like NewGenLib in terms of its integration, popularity, use of standards like MARC, UNICODE,etc. Congratulations to Dr. Haravu and his team of the Kesavan Institute for creating an excellent library automation package, and making it available under Open General License. A long cherished dream of many libraries wanting to have a good ILS has now come true.
