[LIS-Forum] Training Programme on ‘Application of ICT in Academic and Research Libraries’ (NIEPA : January 28 to February 1, 2019)

NIEPA is organizing a 5 days Training Programme on Application of ICT in
Academic and Research Libraries from 28 January to 1 February 2019 at
NIEPA. The Programme is designed to build the capacity of the librarians
and teachers to enhance access and use of the libraries and design,
transact and assess online courses in different disciplines using Moodle
platform. The general objective of the programme is to raise the capacity
of the teachers and librarians to use Moodle platform for effective
delivery of courses in higher education in blended as well as online modes.
I am happy to enclose a note, which will provide further details of the
proposed Programme.

I take this opportunity to request you to nominate two faculty members
working in your department to participate in the proposed Programme. The
particulars of the nominating faculty including their complete postal
address and telephone/fax/e-mail address may kindly be conveyed to Prof. K.
Srinivas, Head ICT & Project Management Unit, NIEPA at ksrinivas at niepa.ac.in
& dsthakur at niepa.ac.in latest by 18 January 2019. The applications will be
shortlisted on first cum first basis.

The programme will be offered in a blended mode with class room
face-to-face interactions and web-based online activities. The learning
resources, programme activities will be available to all the participants
through the NIEPA Web-based Learning Management System. To access workshop
resources and actively participate in all web-based assessments
participants must carry their personal laptops, Internet enabled Smart
Phones and Internet Dongles.

Travel assistance and local hospitality will be provided to the
participants as per NIEPA rules. TA is restricted to Lowest Economy Air
fare/Apex fare by Air India only (Private Airline Travel is not admissible)
in the shortest route, to the faculty who are eligible for air travel. For
those faculty members /officials who are not eligible for air travel, NIEPA
will pay train/State Road Transport Bus fare/sharing taxi with receipt as
per the NIEPA rules. TA will be paid only to those faculty
members/officials who attend all the Five days of the Programme. Stay
Arrangements for the participants will be made at NIEPA hostel on
twin-sharing basis.
