Museums: An Overview

Abstract

As a curious organism, we humans are always eager to know about our past.
Museums around the world provide the platform to quench our thirst of
primeval curiosity. From the beginning of the documented history, humans
collected objects which define their surrounding society and environment.
As an effect of this collecting and conserving nature, private collection
and later museum came into the picture.

Museum houses variety of artifacts and objects of artistic, cultural,
historical or scientific importance. Museums aim to serve the various
communities ranging from researchers and specialist to the general public.
