About the session
Processing historical or archived data is useful when time isn't very
critical. On the other hand, today's technology applications and processing
require immediate answers to be delivered out of the data, sometimes within
seconds, to be of value. No doubt, there is explosive growth in data volume
and complexity. But the true worth of data largely depends upon how
efficiently data analytics can be carried out using it. Today there are
technologies support Near Real time Data Analytics.
The session will cover:
-       Batch processing technologies in data analytics & its disadvantages
-       Advantages & areas where Near Real time Analytics can be used
-       Open source technologies that support this & a simple architecture
using Spark, Kafka, PrestoDB and Airpal,


About the speaker

Mr. K.S.Sreedharan is  the Director IT at Zoho Corporation. At Zoho he has
been leading the IT and the Cloud Application Infrastructure Delivery teams.
He was instrumental in the  design and architecture of the Zoho's
Infrastructure. He led the operations team, with focus on Performance
management and Incident Management. He is a security evangelist at Zoho. He
was instrumental in setting up the Application Security team and
organizational policy frameworks for good Governance. His areas of focus are
Massively scalable infrastructure, Security in the Cloud and efficient
delivery of Services.

He is passionate about programming and has led various software product
teams. Currently, he is working on building platform for  business metrics
analytics. Prior to Zoho he has around 10 years of experience in Utility
industry, Nuclear and Gas based power plants. He has a BE in Electronics and
Communications and MS in software systems. He holds the CISSP, CISA
certifications.
