[LIS-Forum] Confusion on NDL (National digital library) and Sodhganga ?

Dear Mr. Senthil,

Thanks for your clarifications, further i would like to get
clarification on your point No:


1. You said collection of IR and thesis so will they collect full text
of all the thesis/IR on their own server and made it available to all?
as i came to know they are asking for metadata only and many renowned
Institutes Like IIT did not provide IR/Thesis in public domain.
Therefore is it not a collection of metadata/Union catalog only and
how it will be digital library?

2. What to do with the "Harvester which includes various data sets"
and how it will be useful for general public and other institutes?

4. Training is provided by various institutes like NISCAIR, Inflibnet,
many workshops also conducted on the same for 3/4/5 days so how this
training (2 days only) will be different and useful for creating
repositories?

7. It is not a matter who is promoting but i just wish to know the
contents which will be provided by NDL in full (one point solution)
rather than referring to other source.

I think it is in very beginning stage and i got few query from many
institutes on how to enable OAI in dspace, upgrade dspace etc. so that
IITKGP (NDL) can harvest the metadata. So many questions came in my
mind.
