*Librarians’ Day 2016*

Believably you are aware and will appreciate that we observe the Birth
Anniversary of the father of Library Science, Dr. S. R. Ranganathan as the
“Librarians’ Day” every year befittingly to pay homage and tribute to this
great son of mother India The 12th August stands as that sacred date to
us. On this Occasion of celebration of *Librarians’ Day 2016*, in
collaboration with the RRRLF and Shibpur Public Library, Howrah a day-long
seminar on “Capacity Building Among Librarians” will be held on *August 14,
2016*(*Sunday)* at 10 am at the Auditorium of Shibpur Public Library,
Mandirtala, Howrah.
The event will be inaugurated by Professor Mita Banerjee, Vice
Chancellor, The West Bengal University of Teachers’ Training, Education
Planning and Administration, Dr Rathin Chakraborty, Mayor, Howrah
Municipality will grace the event as the Guest in Chief, Dr Arun Kumar
Chakraborty will grace the event as the Guest-of Honour. Dr Barun
Mukherjee, Former M P (Rajya Sabha) and the President, Indian Association
of Special Libraries and Information Centres, and Bengal Library
Association will preside over the function.
Prof Amitabha Chatterjee, Ms Indrani Bhattacharyya, Dr Soma
Mukherjee will speak on the theme.
