Dear Professionals,
The INFLIBNET Centre, Gandhinagar is organizing a Advanced Training
Programme on ICT Applications for Libraries from 10th -30th  November, 2014.


*About the Course:* The Centre is conducting practical oriented “Advanced
Training Programme  on  ICT Applications in Libraries” for the benefit of
LIS professionals. Library and Information Services (LIS) are being
transformed by technological developments leading to creation new
opportunities and challenges for traditional libraries. With the
application of ICT, libraries are adopting new methods and standards to
meet the  user’s needs in changing and growing digital world. Therefore,
Centre has taken this new initiatives to design advance level course having
all aspects of ICT on one single course.

*Objectives *:


   - Provide an  exposure of latest ICT applications  to  LIS professionals;
   - Provide practical ‘hands-on’ training  in ICT applications;
   - Provide training on  RFID, Surveillance applications,  license, IPR
   and copyright; and
   - Networks and cloud computing for resource sharing.


*Course content: *



The following areas will be covered in the workshop and hands on practical
training will be given in these areas:


   - New Generation ILMS software
   - Changing role of librarianship
   - Creation  and managing digital library using open source software
   - Creation  and managing institutional repository
   - Web technology
   - Networks & cloud computing
   - Knowledge discovery tools and techniques
   - Inter personnel skills for LIS professionals
   - Capacity building on library automation and digital library
   - Managing and licensing of e-resources
   - Use of  Anti- plagiarism software
   - RFID Technology
   - E-learning management system
   - Information literacy
   - Latest trends in LIS




*(Please note that 21 days Advance course is on par with UGC  Refresher
Course)*


 *Target Participants: Library and information professionals, information
scientists and students. A maximum of 25-30 candidates will be enrolled for
the workshop on First-Come-First-Serve basis. *
