Kudos to MyDLIS for getting UGC NON - NET Fellowship to 5 MPhil (LIS) candidates of the academic year 2013-14.

It is an honour for the Department of Studies in Library and Information Science (MyDLIS), University of Mysore, Mysore to have got UGC NON - NET Fellowship for 5 MPhil (LIS) candidates of the academic year 2013-14. This award is for promoting research at Institutions of Excellence (IOE) and Universities with Potential for Excellence (UPE) at PhD and MPhil level. University of Mysore is one such Institutions recognized by MHRD and is granted Rs.10crs for a period of five academic years (2013-14; 2014-15; 2015-16; 2016-17 and 2017-18).

First time in the history of fifty years MyDLIS gets this fellowship to its MPhil students. It has a few conditions that the students have to abide by to draw the fellowship. The candidates are eligible to draw Rs.5000/- per month for a two semesters (4 months each and totally 8 months) period  starting from 20.09.13 to 18.01.14; 15.02.2014 to 14.06.2014. They are also granted an annual contingency of Rs.10000/- each. 

The names of the lucky five are -  
Mr. Madhusudhan; Mr. Vinay Patil,P.M.; Mr. Ankamurthy, Y.K.; Mr. Krishnappa; Mr. Umesha, E.
