Hosted by:
Documentation Research and Training Centre (DRTC)<http://drtc.isibang.ac.in/>
Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) <http://www.isibang.ac.in/>

Documentation Research and Training Centre, Indian Statistical Institute,
announces an International Conference on Knowledge Modelling and Knowledge
Management <http://www.drtc.isibang.ac.in/ickm> to bring together experts
from different areas of information science, computer science, artificial
intelligence and other disciplines, who have a mutual interest in
understanding and solving problems of knowledge modelling and knowledge
management. The aim is to recognize and focus on new areas of knowledge
modelling and knowledge management. Therefore philosophy, logic,
linguistics, cognitive science, health care, management science, media,
etc. are relevant areas, too.

Knowledge modelling is becoming increasingly an important topic for
researchers, designers and users of intelligent systems. It encompasses a
cross disciplinary approach to capture and model knowledge in a way to
facilitate preservation of knowledge and ensure it can be aggregated,
substituted, improved, shared and reapplied. The modelling is done to
create a machine interpretable model of knowledge which should be used to
stimulate intelligence. Knowledge management is concerned with the
effective and efficient management of the organization's intellectual
assets, consisting of tools, techniques and processes that govern the
entire process of identifying and creating knowledge, representing,
distributing and the utilization of knowledge. However, capturing,
analysing, representing and manipulating the heterogeneous nature of
knowledge was and is still challenging from both theoretical and practical
perspectives.

On behalf of the ICKM 2013 Committee, we invite you to submit your
original research work and to participate in the International Conference
on Knowledge modelling and Knowledge Management (ICTK), which will take
place at Indian Statistical Institute on 20-21 November 2013, in Bangalore,
