Hi,
SCONUL (Society of College, National and University Libraries)launched a new version of the Seven Pillars of Information Literacy at the Librarians' Information Literacy Annual Conference (April 18-20, 2011). Currently, only the Core Model and the Research Lens are available. SCONUL Working Group on Information Literacy hope that teachers and librarians representing other learner groups will participate in the development of other lenses.
The seven pillars of the Core Model for Higher Education are:
Identify: Able to identify a personal need for informationScope: Can assess current knowledge and identify gapsPlan: Can construct strategies for locating informationGather: Can locate and access the information and data they needEvaluate: Can review the research and compare and evaluate information and dataManage: Can organise information professionally and ethicallyPresent: Can apply the knowledge gained: presenting the results of their research, synthesising new and old information and data to create new knowledge, and disseminating it in a variety of ways.
