Dear Moderator,
Please post the following news item at LIS-Forum:

Indian Library Science Abstracts (ILSA) is the only comprehensive abstracting journal which covers the literature on Library and Information Science (LIS) produced in India. It is published by the Indian Association of Special Libraries and Information Centres (IASLIC), Kolkata, India. Indian Library Science Abstracts (ILSA), Vols. 34—39, 2000—2005 has been published. It contains 3139 bibliographical entries along with the abstracts of the literature on different facets of Library and Information Science produced in India during the period 2000—2005. Compilation work of ILSA Vols. 40—44, 2006—2010 is in progress and we will be in a position to publish it by December, 2011. IASLIC has already taken initiatives to reduce the time-lag of the publication of ILSA. It is hoped that ILSA will maintain the time schedule in its publication from vol. 45, 2011.
Because of the growth of LIS literature in India it became a herculean task to collect and collate data for the publication of subsequent volumes ILSA in time. Different States of India have good number of LIS literature in regional languages to their credit. One important handicapped in respect of coverage of ILSA is the availability of data on the literature on LIS published in major regional languages of India, thus making it difficult to hold a proper control over these publications. Hence, we invite publishers of LIS literature, state library associations, members of the LIS_FORUM, and individual LIS professionals to furnish data on the literature on LIS published in regional languages either to Prof. Juran Krishna Sarkhel, Editor, ILSA, Indian Association of Special Libraries and Information Centres, P 291, CIT Scheme No. 6M, Kankurgachi, Kolkata-700054.
Copy of the Indian Library Science Abstracts (ILSA), Vols. 34—39, 2000—2005 (Price: Rs. 2,500.00; $ 300.00) can be obtained from the IASLIC by sending a Demand Draft/Cheque of Rs. 2,000.00 (after 20% discount of its price) to be drawn in favour of “IASLIC” payable at Kolkata. A collection charge of Rs. 50.00 should be added for outstation cheque.
Sincerely,

Professor Juran Krishna Sarkhel
Editor, ILSA
