Dear Professionals

Mapping the objects, regions or themes with its geographical position
(Longitude and Latitude) is more perceiving than a simple description. The
registry of Open Access Repositories (ROAR - http://roar.eprints.org/ ) and
Directory of Open Access Repositories (OpenDOAR -
http://www.opendoar.org/countrylist.php) provide extensive information to
the registered repositories to browse and navigate but do not show the
repository location geographically.

Recently a website known as 'Open Access Map -
http://www.openaccessmap.org/' has launched which aim is to display the
location of all types of OA-related initiatives. The website shows that
"BETA version of Open Access Map under development - launching June 2011! ".

There only couples of OA initiatives of India are reflected on the map. It
provides option to 'Add Item' to the map. If you are an institutional
repository administrator or your institute provides any other open access
services then you would like to add those to this map.

Regards
Satya
