dear colleages

please clarify....

when we convert printed pages into pdf  by scanning, the file size is very
big (in MB even for a few pages), kindly provide information as how to
reduce the file size.

while downloading pdf articles from the Net / online databases, the file
size is very small (in KBs only) for a few pages.
