ORGANIZERS

Delhi Library Association came to be formed on 10th March 1939. Its
major activities have been to train library manpower at Certificate
level and Diploma level. Its School of Library Science has been
functioning since 1954. In 2003 a Computer Lab fitted with 20 branded
computers,  one scanner and three printers was added to school
infrastructure. To provide uninterrupted supply of power to Computer
Lab and Class rooms a Genset was  added  in March last. Association
has been bringing out Library Herald, a quarterly journal since 1958.
Association has instituted two annual Lecture Series to perpetuate the
memories of its Founder Patron  Dr S R Ranganathan, and Founder
Director of the  School of Library Science Professor S Dasgupta. This
year it has been decided to organize a National level Workshop on the
theme INFORMATION LITERACY & COMPETENCY IN UGC-INFONET ELECRTONIC
RESOURCES in joint collaboration with INFLIBNET Centre ( An Autonomous
Inter-University Centre of UGC), Ahemadabad in the premises of the
Dyal Singh College (University of Delhi), New Delhi-110003.

CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

With pleasure we invite faculty members, Library & Informational
professionals, research scholars, and LIS students to participate in
the Workshop.

-Orientation to UGC Infonet Electronic Resources

WORKSHOP FEE

Before 17th March 2010:
For Faculty members, Library & Info professionals
                    Rs. 750/-
For Research scholars, and  LIS students
                             Rs. 500/-

After 17th March 2010:
                                    Rs.1,000/-



Registration fee  is inclusive of Workshop Kit, High Tea, Lunch. and
Afternoon Tea.

LAST DATE FOR REGISTRATION

Duly filled in Registration Form along with a recent passport size
photograph and the DD of requisite amount drawn in the name of DELHI
LIBRARY ASSOCIATION on any bank payable at Delhi should reach the
Office of Delhi Library Association latest by 17th March 2010.

WORKSHOP VENUE

The Venue of the National Workshop on Information Literacy and
Competency in UGC INFONET Electronic Resources will be the Auditorium,
and Computer Labs of the Dyal Singh College (University of Delhi),
Lodhi Road, New Delhi-110003.
