MANAGEMENT LIBRARY NETWORK (MANLIBNET)

MANLIBNET was born in the year 2000 and was registered as a Society under
Societies Regulation Act of 1860. The primary objective of MANLIBNET is to
provide a common forum to the professionals; and to develop understanding
and co-operation particularly among management and business libraries and
the librarians. Management Libraries Network (MANLIBNET) is a movement for
sharing of resources and information among the libraries by fostering a
spirit of cooperation and weaving them together in a networking arrangement.
MANLIBNET promotes outstanding library practices by identifying the Best
Librarian from information professionals' community and recognizes the best
academic work on an annual basis. We act as teachers and consultants to each
other that help us identifying issues and overcome challenges with advice
and support from around the country. On professional platforms, MANLIBNET
tries to put you in contact with current and future leaders in the library
profession. Librarians and Informational Professionals share their views by
writing in MANLIBNET publications that ultimately enhances MANLIBNET's

INTRODUCTION:

In the IT era Library and Information Managers (LIM) are deluged with advice
as to how to acquire and organize learning resources and satisfy the complex
and ever increasing information needs of their users. However, to achieve
their goal, the question of a resource constrained regime has to be kept in
mind without sacrificing the interests of the users. The services offered,
accordingly, have to be internally efficient and externally effective. It is
in this context that the question of 'Total Quality' becomes relevant in the
'Management of Library & Information Services'. The ultimate goal of
measuring it is to improve the process to make it better meet the needs of
customers (library users, library staff and upper management). To share the
vision for the future, the librarians and Information professionals will
share a single platform and discuss the issue related to the topic.
