[LIS-Forum] Koha v 3.0 Appliance or Live CD

All,

A big barrier to evaluation and use of Koha has been the difficult
installation process and the need for some Linux expertise.

We have developed a software appliance (or Live CD) for Koha v 3.0,
that removes this barrier.

The CD can be used in several ways:
- to try Koha directly from the CD
- to test if your hardware is compatible with Linux/Koha
- to install on your machine

The appliance is built on openSUSE Linux 11.2 and Koha v 3.02.

The appliance includes a full featured and ready to run Koha, including:
- zebra search server
- email notices
- fines calculation and more..

User manuals and other resources are also packaged in the CD.

We will offer free but limited support via a mailing list:
koha-appliance-osslabs at googlegroups.com.

Those interested in the appliance can order a copy on our website, you
will need to pay postage costs only.
