Applications are invited in the prescribed form for the post of Assistant Librarian at the Goa University. Application forms can be downloaded from University website www. unigoa.ac.in 
Fees: (Rs. 300/- US $ 25 for candidates abroad Rs.125/- for SC/ST candidates) by crossed Demand Draft drawn in favor of Registrar, Goa University payable at Panaji Goa. Details of qualifications/experience etc. are given in the Brochure accompanying the application form. Applications duly completed in all respects along with the prescribed application fee shall be submitted to the Registrar, Goa University on or before 02/03/2010.

The minimum qualifications required for appointment to the post of Assistant Librarian in the University in the pre-revised scale of pay of Rs.8000-275-13500 shall be:

(i) Qualifying in the national –level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC.
(ii) Masters’ degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation or an  quivalent professional degree with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale plus consistently good academic record, computerization of Library.
Note: Exempted NET to M. Phil and Ph.D. Degree holders vide UGC letter dated 22/09/2006.
General
1. Each applicant must send 7 copies of the application, one of which must be handwritten or typed and the other could be photocopies.
2. All annexure should be countersigned by the applicant/ candidate.
3. Applications should be accompanied with certified true copies of all certificates.
4. The applications will be screened by a Committee to short list them on the basis of qualifications and experience and recommend candidates for being called for interview.
5. The candidates who are already employed shall send their applications through proper channel.
6. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
7. Canvassing in any form by or on behalf of the candidate will disqualify him/her
8. The University reserves the right not to fill up the post advertised, or fill up the post on short term basis.
