Dear Professional friends,



UGC commission had appointed an expect committee after receiving the
recommendation of PRC through MHRD. The draft regulations for UGC
notification on revision of scales, minimum qualifications for appointment
of teachers/Librarians and Physical Education Directors in Universities and
Colleges has been submitted by the expert committee headed by Prof.
Tyagarajan former, Vice Chancellor, Madras University.



Now the same above committee to have a feedback from the stake holders on
these draft regulators submitted to UGC, has been assigned to interact with
the VCs, Senior Academicians and Representatives of Teacher’s Associations,
Librarians’ Associations and the Associations of Physical Education
Directors from different parts of the country in four regional consultative
meetings scheduled as under:



21-05-2009                  Osmania University, Hyderabad

24-05-2009                                   Pune University, Pune

31-05-2009                                   Calcutta University, Calcutta

03-06-2009                                   Jamina Milia Islamia, Delhi



            I am very happy to inform all of the that the delegation of IALA
under the leadership of Dr. Venkataramana, Vice-President, IALA has
submitted the memorandum to the first meeting of the committee meeting held
at Osmania University, Hyderabad on 21-05-2009. IALA has also made
arrangements to submit its representation to other sittings of the
committees sitting in different places detailed above.
We are sure that this time Academic Librarians will ge their due JUSTICE.
