I will try let you know in brief, IPR is a part of Research and development in Industrial age. Most of R&D organizations having IPR as a department. Their major role is filing patents (getting license) in international and domestic market on current working and concerned projects. Patent is one of the most important source of information which can be defined as a formal description of an innovation. Accordingly patent documents are highly useful for R&D activities. Some times IPR dept itself can do all the process according to their requirements; their requirements can be based on sources/facilities which are available in R&D Library like
Down loading patents
Patents Clipping Service
CD-ROM databases
Patent Index to Chemical Abstract books
Patent related journals / IPR Journals
IPR Related books
Controller General of Patents and Design
Patent Gazettes
Online IPR related database Access
Conducting Literature Search
Intellectual Property Rights Bulletins
These are the minimum things one R&D Library should have to run IPR.
