[LIS-Forum] Google launches Social gadgets

Greetings for the day,

Google has created the history on 12 August, 2009 by adding the nineteen
social gadgets to its personalized and interactive *iGoogle* page. At
present only US users benefitted by these open social tools and With the new
social gadgets, they will be able to share content, play games and
collaborate with friends right on their iGoogle page. Broadly these tools
are categorizing into Content Sharing, Games and Fun and list of
communication tools. All iGoogle users in the U.S. will get access to these
gadgets over the course of this week and Google plans to expand the reach of
these social gadgets beyond the U.S. and Australia in the near future. The

The spinning wheel of victory of Google is not taking a rest here, they are
ready with new features called ‘Friends Groups’ and ‘Updates’. A "Friends
group"* *is a list of friends users can create based on a subset of users'
Google Contacts to be able to interact and share social gadgets with.
"Updates" allows users to see what their friends are up to by sharing
gadgets, photos, ratings and more from the social gadgets on their iGoogle
page. The new social features are completely optional and can be disabled on
any social gadget if users do not want to take advantage of the new
features.
