As you are aware Prof. V.G. Talawar has made the LIS Profession  proud by
achieving a very prestigious position as Vice Chancellor of University of
Mysore.  Earlier he worked as Librarian at BEL and Mangalore University. 
For quite some time  he served in various positions such as Professor of 
Library & Information Science, Director of Staff Training College  and 
Registrar at University of Mysore.  Being a down to earth man, he is
loved and respected by one and all.

Imporatant library associations in Karnataka like IPLA, IALA, KALA, KSULA,
KSCLA, KMLA, KSPLEA, etc have come together to organize a Felicitation 
Function to Prof. V.G. Talawar.  Many important dignitaries including Dr. 
Jagadish Arora, Director, INFLIBNET; Prof. K. Siddappa, Former VC, BU; 
Prof. H.A. Ranganath, Director, NAAC; Prof. N. Prabhu Dev, VC, BU;
Prof. M.I. Savadatti, former VC, Mangalore University will  be gracing
the occasion in the Holy Divine presence of H.H. Sri. Sri. Sri Shivaratri 
Deshikendra Mahaswamiji of Suttur Math.

This function is organized by Prof. V.G. Talawar Felicitation Committee 
with Prof. P. Sadashivamurthy as the Chairman and Dr. P.V. Konnur as the
Organizing Secretary.  Let us all come together and felicitate
Prof. Talwar for his unique achievement.
