Position: Library & Website Management Trainee

The Urban Health Resource Centre (UHRC) is committed to address the needs of the urban poor by working with key partners to raise awareness and mobilizing resources for improving health of the urban poor. The goal of UHRC is to bring about sustainable improvements in Maternal and Child Health conditions among the Urban Poor through a consultative and knowledge sharing approach in partnership with Government and Civil Society.  UHRC has been institutionalized from the USAID-supported Environmental Health Project (EHP India) and continues the program activities of EHP India with ongoing USAID support.
One of UHRC’s key activities is developing and maintaining a resource center of urban health information which is easily accessible to researchers, policy makers and other development sector professionals.  UHRC Library has a growing collection of urban health related literature. UHRC website available at www.uhrc.in is a preferred destination for researchers and program planners for information on various aspects of urban health.
UHRC is looking for a fresh library and information science post-graduate to support its Library & Information Centre, website and related knowledge management functions. 
Key Responsibility:
Ø The incumbent will support in managing the library and the UHRC intranet,
Ø The incumbent will support in developing and maintaining digital repositories of urban health literature and information 
Ø Support in providing information services to UHRC staff,
Ø Support in disseminating UHRC publications widely through print and electronic media,
Ø support in periodically updating and maintaining the website, preparation of e-newsletters, etc.
Essential Qualification & Skills
The right candidate should be post-graduate in Library and Information Science. He/she should have basic understanding of content management systems and open source software. He/she should be a team player with good verbal and written communication skills.
Compensation:
The traineeship will be for a period of 12 months. Emoluments will range from Rs.10,000/-pm to Rs.12,000/-pm.
