Respected friends,

I fully agree with Prof. P.B.Mangla that now it is high time has to change
not only the nomenclature but also the whole image of LIS World. Although,
we have entered in digital world, still LIS Professionals are considered not
more than circulation clerk and library is a place where one can get the
books or in most sophisticated words INFORMATION.

To break the ice, our well conversant LIS Force must be equipped with latest
technology. Internet and its peripherals are the essential element of LIS
world. Open Access, Virtual Library, Knowledge Repository, E-Resources,
Blogging, User Behaviour, Communication Technology and techniques, Cyber
law, Intellectual Property Right, Meta Data are most prevailing terms
nowadays but they are no- where in LIS curriculum in any level. A fine
integration of history and modern technique of LIS is need of the day.

Regards,

Miss Charu Mathur
