[LIS-Forum] Prof. Peter Jacso's Lectures in India

Some of you may have read the November 2005, Current Science, which  brought
out a special issue on 50 YEARS OF CITATION INDEXING, to commemorate the
80th birthday of Dr. Eugene Garfield.  This issue carried an article titled:
“As we may search – Comparison of major features of the Web of Science,
Scopus, and Google Scholar citation-based and citation-enhanced databases”.

Prof. PETER JACSO  author of this article,  will be in India during this
June. During his visit, Prof. Jacso is delivering a series of Lectures
arranged under Thomson Scientific Lecture Series, at the following cities on
the topic:
CITATION-BASED AND CITATION-ENHANCED DATABASES, the details are as follows:

New Delhi   -  18 June 2007 (10.00 am to 1.00 pm) Organized by NISCAIR, at
NISCAIR conference hall

Hyderabad   -  20 June 2007 (10.00 am to 1.00 pm)  Organized by the Academy
of Library and information Management
               at JNTU, conference hall (city campus, Masab Tank)

Bangalore   -  22 June 2007 (10.00 am to 1.00 pm)  Organized by Indian
Institute of  Science Library at NCSI ,
               seminar hall.

Prof. Peter Jacso, recognized and awarded by the American Society for
Information Science  as an outstanding Information Science Teacher,  will be
traveling in India from 18th through 22nd June as a Guest of  Thomson
Scientific.  Prof. Jacso is a prolific writer and popular speaker.  With
over 500 papers and books to his credit, he is well known for his regular
columns on product reviews in Online and e-Content magazines.

Please mark the date that suits your location in your calendar,  and watch
out for more detailed announcements from the respective organizers.
