[LIS-Forum] Prof. G. Bhattacharya

Dear Friends,

I was deeply saddened to hear the loss of Prof. G. Bhattacharya.

Prof. GB as he was fondly called by all was one of the greatest teachers
in the LIS area.  His teaching of Study of Subjects will make any one
regardless of his/her basic subject background a qualified librarian to
handle any subject areas.  The study of subjects provides a template
wherein any subject can be mapped and analysed for better
understanding of a particular subject by a non subject specialist like
the librarian.

Although Prof. GB is no more with us, his teachings and commitments
towards achieving excellence in whatever he did will be remembered
forever.

Our deepest condolences to the beraved family and friends.

May his soul rest in peace.
