Dear Colleagues,
We are experiencing few minute holes in the books and bound volumes of
journals since last few years. We spray pesticide on the collection at least
once in three months (on contract from pest control agency). When we brought
our observation to the notice of Pest control agency they claim that there
is no live animal inside (we also could not identify any time). However, we
notice fine powder /dust within the volumes over a period of time (the
volumes are wiped once a month).
Has any one come across such a problem? How risky is it and what is the
solution? Please share your ideas and experiences. Note that we are close to
sea and the library is NOT air-conditioned.
With warm regards,
